A long time ago, there was a small house in a corner of a town that ran a shop called ‘Kadoya’. As time passed, the house became vacant and I moved into it. I decided to revive and use that name out of respect for the history of the place, adding the word ‘kobo’ (studio) to create ‘KADOYA Kobo’. After a few more years, I closed the brick-and-mortar shop when I had an opportunity to create things abroad. The journey lasted longer than expected and continues to this day. During my travels, I search for craftspeople and workshops, and when I find meaningful connections, I stay in that town for a while to create. This site is a record of my journey, the works I have created along the way, and the stories of encounters I’ve experienced.”
